Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the deployment and support of end-user computing (EUC) hardware, software, and applications in a clinical and business environment. The role includes recommending, installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing end‑user computer hardware and software, as well as administering user accounts, peripheral devices, and workstations. The engineer models appropriate behavior in line with The Methodist Mission, Vision, and Values.

What You Will Do- Recommend, install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and support end‑user hardware and software applications; participate in projects, equipment moves, and system implementations.
- Escalate calls appropriately and collaborate with staff and technical resources to resolve customer issues; accurately document and update systems that track calls and equipment.
- Analyze customer requests and recommend hardware or software solutions that meet needs in accordance with established standards; propose technical or procedural changes to reduce expenses, enhance productivity, or increase customer service.
- Respond to customer calls and resolve issues in a timely manner; provide the Manager, customers, and vendors with accurate information.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Provide technical training and educational sessions to individuals or groups; develop, review, and modify documentation as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate's Degree in Computer Sciences
- 3–5 years of end‑user support experience
- Demonstrated expertise in information technology support.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices, concepts, and procedures.
- Broad knowledge of hardware equipment and software applications; general understanding of IT and the functional duties of various support groups.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment and initiative.
- Capacity to independently support various facilities for prolonged periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple mediums.
- Capability to read and understand technical manuals and documentation.
- Flexibility to work varying hours due to project schedules and customer needs.
- Ability to handle stressful working conditions under tight project schedules.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and manipulating small equipment components.
- Strong prioritization, coordination, and workflow management skills.
- Subject to mandatory on‑call duties and call‑back responsibilities.
- Must provide own transportation and be able to travel across the organization.
There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
Physical Demands- Activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- Physical requirements include exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
- Requires close visual acuity for data analysis, writing, computer terminal use, and extensive reading.
- Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; typically performed under office or administrative work conditions.
- Subjects to standard office working conditions with intermittent exposure to noisy computer equipment.
- Frequent travel to other Methodist Le Bonheur locations may be required.
