Sr Adv-Data Base Administration

Responsible for designing, configuring, and managing enterprise-level databases. This role ensures the integrity, security, performance, and accessibility of organizational data. The Data Base Administrator (DBA) leads complex projects, provides strategic consultation, and mentors junior staff while maintaining high standards for data storage, access, and recovery.

• Serve as the lead liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, and support groups.
• Design and implement database solutions that ensure performance, scalability, and security.
• Define and enforce standards for physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security.
• Configure database parameters and manage data repositories, dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.
• Perform and oversee backup and recovery operations using Database Management Systems (DBMS).
• Provide expert consultation across multiple major projects and initiatives.
• Coach and mentor junior database administrators.
• Ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four (4) or more years of relevant work experience in an information technology or engineering environment, with a focus on database administration.
• Expert-level knowledge of all phases of data administration.
• Proficiency in database design, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of data security, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Ability to manage large-scale projects with minimal oversight.
• Excellent problem-solving skills for complex and difficult challenges.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring others.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and enterprise data architecture.

Some travel

• Leadership and incident support:
  The position provides guidance to full-time employees and managed service resources, leads crisis-call triage and restoration efforts, supports Oracle database and operating system issues, and conducts root cause analysis after incidents.
• Database engineering and resilience:
  Responsibilities include performance tuning, monitoring, schema and indexing changes, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Golden Gate, backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, migrations, continuous availability, disaster recovery, access governance, and legal-hold support across Linux environments and multiple datacenters.
• Automation and technical expertise:
  The role develops Ansible automation for provisioning and maintenance, uses advanced shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python, and benefits from knowledge of Oracle monitoring tools, Resource Manager, Red Hat Linux, Grafana, global server load balancing, job scheduling, and other database technologies.
