About the Job

The Engineer, Quality Systems provides technical leadership in food safety, quality systems, and process improvement to ensure Monogram’s products meet or exceed customer expectations. This remote role requires travel to manufacturing facilities and partner locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Scale up R&D formulations to full‑scale production, ensuring flow diagrams, specifications, and plant processes are developed in accordance with customer requirements, Monogram standards, and federal/state/local regulations.
  • Develop statistical and product evidence for customer review to confirm compliance with product design criteria.
  • Create detailed scopes of work that clearly communicate project objectives to clients, Sales, Operations, and Finance teams.
  • Lead food safety and quality improvement projects at manufacturing sites to reduce defects and customer complaints.
  • Train FSQA personnel on Lean Six Sigma methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to define project installation requirements, including sanitary design, materials of construction, and installation methods.
  • Utilize standard engineering practices, including calculations, spreadsheets, equipment schedules, standard details, and control sequences.
  • Respond quickly to customer inquiries and provide timely technical support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support quality and safety initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Chemical, or Food Process Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing, including 3–5 years focused on process improvement within the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Experience with HACCP, FSMA, GFSI standards and knowledge of 9 CFR and 21 CFR regulations.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Must be able to travel as required for project design, implementation, and execution.

  • Expertise in Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Deep understanding of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to influence and drive change through collaboration and data‑driven decision‑making.
Physical Demands
  • Remote work with regular travel to plant sites requiring standing, walking, and climbing in production environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for reviewing documents, specifications, and technical data.
Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment
  • Remote‑based with frequent travel to manufacturing plants and partner locations.
  • Exposure to typical food manufacturing environments, including variable temperatures, humidity, and noise levels.
  • PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, and steel‑toe shoes is required on site.
