The Converting Process Lead is part of a high‑performance team responsible for achieving the highest levels of operational excellence in a setting where occupational health and safety is at the forefront of each decision. Duties include optimizing equipment availability, operating speeds and the quality of finished products.

Description of Duties Main Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in health and safety and comply with environmental standards by acting as a model of responsible behavior;
  • Promote safe practices, identify risks associated with tasks, eliminate or control them to provide an accident/incident free environment.
  • Work closely with Converting Asset Leader to prioritize online priorities.
  • Participate in management meetings (daily, weekly and monthly) to help implement and maintain the principles of operational excellence.
  • Define standard operating procedures (line centers) for all equipment, ensure that they are optimized, available, communicated and used at all times.
  • Train and coach operators in best practices for line centers, eliminate inconsistencies.
  • Work with production planners to optimize product changes, testing or any other element that could impact the operation.
  • Plan, organize, optimize and support grade changes.
  • Analyze the root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to reduce or eliminate unplanned downtime.
  • Analyze data on variations in the quality of finished product and manage an action plan to continuously achieve optimal product quality.
  • Identify the sources of waste or rejection of operation to improve material performance and reach technical limits.
  • Work with raw material suppliers (internal and external) to optimize and stabilize operating results.
  • Identify and manage line faults by prioritizing and planning interventions with technical resources.
  • Collaborate closely in the planning of preventive/predictive maintenance and its improvement.
  • Manage and prioritize, with his team, the processing of work orders.
  • Communicate with equipment suppliers/vendors regarding any technical issues.
  • Support activities related to research and product development and supervise testing.
  • Support and/or initiate process improvement projects, technical improvements, design of parts and machines, etc.;
  • Share best practices with other converting managers and production teams.
  • Any other related tasks.
Position Requirements Required Training and Experience
  • Have a college education in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, preferred.
  • Have 3 years of experience in team supervision in a manufacturing environment.
  • A combination of training, experience and achievements relevant to the role may be considered equivalent to formal education.
Skills Required
  • Knowledge/expertise of processes and systems.
  • Mastery of the office suite, be very comfortable with computers.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a team.
  • Organizational skills and priority management.
  • Ability to teach and transfer knowledge.
