Job Summary
Production Food Safety Sanitor ($1000 Retention Bonus! Start Rate $23 per hour). This position will support the Food Safety and Sanitation initiatives in the Topeka, KS facility. It is responsible for maintaining sanitation levels in and around company facilities as set by the Food Safety Plan Sanitation SOPs and company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
- Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner.
- Attend assigned shifts and be present for the entire scheduled work period.
- Operate and be in close proximity to production and packaging areas, including crossing platforms over machinery.
- Work as part of a team and demonstrate a positive, professional attitude.
- Operate powered industrial equipment safely.
- Sanitize food production areas using brooms, shovels, squeegees, scrapers, cloths, vacuums, air‑guns, foaming sprayers, mops, and necessary chemicals.
- Clean and sanitize totes, brooms, shovels, and other equipment.
- Inspect and fill footbaths, hand‑soap, and hand‑sanitizers.
- Clean floors using floor scrubbers.
- Document cleaning and sanitation task completion in the Master Cleaning and Sanitation Schedules.
- Perform other tasks as required.
- Must be able to report to work on time and attend the entire scheduled shift.
- Must manage stress and work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced, complex and busy environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

- Flexible and willing to work additional hours when workload or overtime demands it.

- High‑school degree or equivalent is required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMPs, and general instructions. Good communication skills are required.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.
Physical DemandsStand and walk minimum 70% of the time; stand and lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds, lift 30‑35 pounds frequently, squat, kneel, bend, climb steps and vertical ladders up to 10ft, work in a cold (40‑50°F) environment, tolerate exposure to flour and yeast materials.

Work EnvironmentHot in summer, cold in winter. The noise level is usually moderate to high.
