ICU RN PRN
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare invites you to join our ICU nursing team as a PRN Registered Nurse. We are committed to delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care and advancing over a century of service in Memphis and the Mid‑South. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will use the nursing process to provide comprehensive, high‑quality care while supporting patients and families through emotional challenges.
WhatYou Will Do
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to determine appropriate interventions and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide patient and family education on care plans, medications, and self‑care strategies.
- Develop, implement, and adjust personalized patient care plans based on ongoing clinical assessments.
- Administer medications safely, following best practices in medication management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high‑quality patient care.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing – RN
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – RN
- Minimum of 6 months RN experience.
- Preferred:
Greater than 1 year experience in a similar clinical setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of patient care and the ability to conduct thorough assessments using the nursing process.
- Strong knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
- Critical thinking to develop, implement, and support individualized care plans.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively, ensuring a collaborative, team‑based approach.
- Familiarity with healthcare technology that enhances patient safety and care efficiency (e.g., bar code scanning, electronic health records).
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse Tennessee – Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Preferred:
Certification in a clinical specialty.
- The Registered Nurse directs and delegates all patient care activities on nursing units.
- May include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- Requires lifting up to 50 lb. occasionally or up to 25 lb. frequently.
- Requires close visual acuity and the ability to perform detailed assessments, use computer terminals, and read extensively.
- Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids, hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
