Position Overview
Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated School Nurse (LVN or RN) to provide comprehensive health services to students in grades K‑8. This role is essential to supporting student health, safety, and academic success across campus sites. The School Nurse will deliver direct care, coordinate health services, and collaborate closely with school staff, families, and healthcare providers.
Pay Range- LVN: $35/hour
- RN: $41/hour

Location: Memphis, TN 38128
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (8 hours/day)
Dates: January 5, 2026 – May 22, 2026

QualificationsRequired:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Tennessee
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience serving as a school nurse for students in grades K‑8
- Provide direct nursing care, including first aid, medication administration, and chronic condition management
- Maintain accurate, confidential student health records within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Enter and update provider orders, Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and immunization records
- Conduct vision, hearing, and other health screenings; coordinate referrals and follow-up care through the Student Support Team
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and community healthcare providers
- Identify students in need of medical or dental care and monitor ongoing health needs
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate illness/injury response protocols, including communicable disease procedures
- Complete injury reports and ensure proper medication storage and safety
- Provide age-appropriate health education to students, families, and staff
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and professional standards
- Educate students, families, and staff on health topics, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyles
- Support implementation of school health programs and policies
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff
- Participate in Student Support Team, IEP, and 504 Plan meetings
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and external healthcare providers
- Collect, analyze, and submit required health data to state and local agencies
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal health regulations
- Maintain and audit immunization records and required public health reports
- Develop and implement medical emergency response plans
- Train school staff in CPR, first aid, and emergency health procedures
