American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Level I Trauma experience and prior travel assignment history.

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit of a Level I Trauma Center
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7 utilizing a team nursing model that splits caseload between 2 RNs, an LPN, and a Med Nurse
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call and weekend coverage required as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered, to be discussed during interview
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required, no pending licenses accepted
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required, 3+ years preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least 1 completed previous travel assignment required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy, and chest tube management
• Experience managing cardiac drips, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and wound care/wound vac management

• Provide care for Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiovascular, GI, GU/renal, and neurological cases
• Manage telemetry monitoring and respond to rapid response/code team activations as needed
• Holiday coverage required if end-of-year holidays fall during the assignment (willing to work 2 of 3 if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all occur, or at least 1 of 2 if only two holidays fall within the assignment)
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 5+ years of specialty experience
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, strict radius rule with no local candidates accepted
