American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of recent experience and prior travel assignment history.

• 13-week assignment on the MS/Tele unit at a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Team nursing model with patient ratio of approximately 1:6-7 (RNs, LPN, and Med Nurse sharing caseload)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered upon discussion
• Floating permitted between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

• Active RN license (state or NLC-compliant compact) required, TN or compact license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required
• ADN accepted for this position
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, central line and peripheral line management, blood product administration, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care), cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, wound care, and management of GI, renal, and neuro/psych patient needs

• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg Tele patients, including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care management
• Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 5+ years of specialty experience
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, strict radius rule applies
