American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of recent experience and prior travel assignment history.

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Team nursing model with a 1:12 overall ratio split between RNs, LPN, and a Med Nurse, resulting in an effective 1:6-7 ratio
• On-call and weekend shifts as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered, to be discussed during interview
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius, though cross-campus floating is rare unless specified

• Active RN license (State or NLC-compliant Compact) required, TN or compact license needed
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required, 3+ years preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic experience preferred, Cerner experience also preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line management
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, tracheostomy, and oxygen administration management
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and telemetry remote monitoring
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Vaccination status required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care within a team nursing model for medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and rapid response/code team coordination as needed
• Manage a variety of GI, GU/renal, neurological, and post-surgical patient needs
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 5+ years of specialty experience
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, no local candidates accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; RTO requested after an offer will not be honored
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
