American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel and large hospital experience.
Details- Medical Surgical Ortho/Tele unit in a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
- Team nursing model with ratios of 1:12, split between 2 RNs, 2 LPNs, a Med Nurse, and a Charge nurse
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- On-call required as needed
- Weekend rotation required as needed
- Weekend block scheduling may be considered
- Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
- Active RN license (TN state or NLC compact) in hand; no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
- Ortho experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Large hospital experience required
- ADN accepted
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Vaccination status required for consideration
- Provide medical-surgical nursing care within an orthopedic and telemetry patient population
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, strictly enforced
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration; RTO requests made after an offer will not be honored and must be arranged directly with the manager or scheduler
- Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 of these holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
- Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Former travelers who completed a full year assignment must wait 1 full year before returning
