As an Infection Control Nurse (LPN), you'll combine hands-on nursing care with infection prevention efforts to help maintain a safe, healthy environment for patients and staff.
Position Summary Under the clinical supervision of the Director of Nursing and guidance of the Infection Control Nurse/Coordinator, you'll provide direct patient care while supporting infection prevention, education, and compliance initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with infection prevention activities, identifying infection trends, investigating concerns, and evaluating potential infectious disease exposures
- Educating healthcare and correctional staff on infection control practices, safety procedures, and established protocols
- Performing patient assessments, administering medications, providing treatments, and assisting with individualized care plans under appropriate clinical supervision
- Collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, and correctional staff to coordinate patient care and address infection control concerns
- Monitoring patient conditions, documenting nursing encounters, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records
- Promoting infection control standards, environmental sanitation, patient safety, and compliance with facility policies and professional nursing practices

What You’ll Need
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted Tennessee Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience preferred
- Correctional healthcare experience preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced environment
