General PurposeAs part of Store Leadership, the Area Supervisor is responsible for a specific assigned area of the store, general operations, and supervision when functioning as Manager on Duty. Duties include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining merchandise presentation, and keeping a clean work area.
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments- Practice safety first and maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor.
- Correct or report unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
- Secure building entrances/exits, equipment, and cash office.
- Ensure safe egress and remove clutter.
- Respond to accident situations and test fire alarm systems as scheduled.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
- Show courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance and enforce the Company dress code.
- Keep all store areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard.
- Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to Company standards.
- Receive merchandise trucks when needed and process all merchandise with urgency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of stockrooms.
- Assist in moving and signing merchandise on the sales floor.
- Ensure back‑stock is secured and processed according to Company policy.
- Maintain compliance with monthly presentation guidelines in assigned areas.
- Comply with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintain a strong customer‑service presence.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit cards, and merchandise.
- Maintain the Public View Monitor system and conduct package inspections.
- Execute Company best practices to maximize productivity and minimize risks.
- Ensure Associates at the front end follow Company standards and best practices.
- Maintain pace, energy, and presence at the front end to expedite customer wait times.
- Train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control, and other front‑end procedures.
- Control associate break schedules for backups, lunches, and breaks.
- Ensure all equipment is working and supplies are available.
- Expedite go‑backs, ensuring proper scanning, security tagging, and ticketing.
- Maintain the cleanliness of fitting rooms.
- Audit fitting‑room garment tags and ensure compliance with company policy.
- Guarantee go‑back compliance throughout the day.
- Conduct cash pulls and bank deposits per Company policy.
- Administer front‑end controls when needed, including refund approval and register procedures.
- Manage payroll administration, including punch edits and scheduling compliance.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
