Position SummaryThe Sales Associate - Analytics for Steel Pro will play a key role in supporting the sales team by leveraging data-driven insights to optimize sales strategies, enhance customer engagement, and drive revenue growth. This position combines sales support with analytical expertise, focusing on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform decision‑making and improve sales performance. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for data and a strong understanding of sales processes.
This job will include customer interaction and require 60% travel to customers and conferences.
- Collect and analyze sales data, customer behavior, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators such as sales conversion rates, customer retention, and revenue metrics.
- Run proactive outreach campaigns (phone calls, emails, social media) to create sales opportunities.
- Interact with estimating and follow up on proposals sent, assigning probability.
- Assist the sales team in preparing data-driven presentations, proposals, and forecasts for clients and presenting sales pitches and materials.
- Collaborate with Director to identify customer needs and tailor solutions based on analytical findings.
- Ensure excellent customer service through follow‑up quotes and customer service.
- Support lead generation and qualification by analyzing customer data and identifying high‑potential prospects.
- Conduct research on market trends, competitor activities, and industry benchmarks to inform sales strategies.
- Monitor and report on competitive positioning and pricing strategies to help maintain a competitive edge.
- Build social media posts consistent with sales messaging.
- Improve market presence and credibility.
- Maintain and update CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Hub Spot) with accurate and up-to-date customer and sales data.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across platforms and reports.
- Maintain customer list by extracting contacts from email chains through estimating.
- Work closely with Director of Business Development to align strategies and share insights.
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership and team members in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify opportunities to streamline sales processes using data-driven insights.
- Support the implementation of new tools, technologies, or workflows to enhance sales efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred but not mandatory with commensurate experience, Marketing, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, analytics, or a related role, B2B selling in warehouse e‑commerce, data centers, integrators, structural steel and manufacturing markets.
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Hub Spot).
- Experience in Steel Industry, preferably structural steel.
- Flexibility to travel as required 60% of the time.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with sales processes and customer relationship management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey customized solutions to prospects and customers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel in a customer-facing role and deal with C‑suite level.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, AI).
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales automation tools.
