Operating at a journeyman's level, autonomously performs service work and preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of complex specialized building systems such as mechanical, electrical / electronic, hydraulics, carpentry and/or machine servicing. ** A Brief Overview
** Operating at a journeyman's level, autonomously performs service work and preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of complex specialized building systems such as mechanical, electrical / electronic, hydraulics, carpentry and/or machine servicing. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

** What you will do
*** Performs and oversees work orders for complex preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems at a journeyman’s level.
* Determines the nature of the problem and ensures that repairs at a journeyman’s level are completed in a timely and quality manner.
* Performs and guides the maintenance of machinery incidental to system operations at a journeyman’s level of expertise.  
** Education/Formal Training Requirements*
* * High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Technical Degree or Diploma  
** Work Experience Requirements*
* * 1-3 years O&M Specialist II
* 5-7 years Operations and maintenance  
** Licenses and Certifications Requirements*
* * Licensed Journeyman Tennessee - Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance  
** Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

*
* * Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and write and to communicate verbally and in writing with other individuals.
* Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
* Ability to work from drawings, diagrams, sketches and verbal instructions.
* Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.
* Possession of a valid driver’s license.
* Must be able to pass a DOT background check based on work facility.  
** Supervision Provided by this Position*
* * No supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position. Mentors and trains less experienced O & M Specialists.  
** Physical Demands*
* * Occasional work performed outdoors.
* Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
* Occasional travel to other locations.
* The physical activities of this position may include squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
* Must have good balance and coordination.
* The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
* The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
