We’re looking for a highly skilled Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to be part of a cutting‑edge utility infrastructure supporting a state of the art automotive manufacturing complex. This is a critical, hands‑on role at our newly constructed Central Utility Plant—ideal for professionals with deep experience in power generation, industrial controls, and electrical systems who want to contribute to a forward‑thinking, high‑performance team.
You will install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot a wide range of plant systems, including instrumentation, control systems, and both low- and medium-voltage electrical systems. This journeyman-level position offers the opportunity to work with advanced equipment and technologies in a dynamic environment that values safety, precision, and continuous improvement.

E&I Commissioning Technicians – Memphis, TN
Job Description:
CWE has openings for strong E&I Commissioning Technicians for a very significant and important contract opportunity. Candidates must have a proven record of excellence in their technical proficiency and ability to support a dynamic team with a mandate to solve issues for our client.
We are seeking experienced I&C Technicians with 4 plus years of hands on field experience who can read schematics and wiring diagrams, shoot DCS Loops, follow procedures and perform functional testing MCC Starters and control circuits. Scope of Work Includes
- Electrical, Instrumentation with some Control System Checkout required
- MCC & Switchgear Checkout
- Loop Checks (Electrical, Instrumentation to DCS)
- Troubleshooting skills are a must.
- Documentation of all work completed
- This is a field technician position in a startup and commissioning environment.
- All Technician Candidates must be cross trained in Electrical, I&C and be familiar with DCS checkout.
- Must be self-motivated.
Must have:
- 5+ Years of Commissioning Experience, I&C Testing, Metrology, Gas Turbine Maintenance, Plant Maintenance or similar roles in a heavy industrial environment.
- Ability to work with diverse personnel and equipment.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation and project experience.
- Experience working overseas for extended periods of time.
- Fossil Power Plant Commissioning Experience.
This is NOT an “office” position. You will be expected to work in the field solving issues for 80% of the time in order to execute the work. The remaining 20% will be handling documentation, RFI support and other needs of the project. You will be responsible for ensuring CWE’s client receives top quality commissioning support as well as act on behalf of CWE.
Pay:
Rate is DOE.

(2) 7.8 MW Solar Taurus 70 gas turbine generators and HRSGs with duct burners and fresh air firing
(10) 3,350-ton electric centrifugal chillers
(5) 2,245-ton heating/cooling chillers with a 10MM gallon thermal storage tank
A 14-cell, 153,000 GPM cooling tower
Steam-to-hot-water heat exchangers, deaerators, economizers, and related systems
Extensive electrical infrastructure (25/5 kV, 480V, 125
VDC), PLCs, MCCs, and more
