Position: Opening Teacher

Kid City offers full-time child care and drop-in care in the Cordova area.

Job Description

The Opening Teacher will open the facility Monday through Friday and work from 6:00am through 3:00pm. Along with opening the facility and following daily opening procedures, the primary job objective for this position is to provide fast, friendly service to our guests. The Opening Teacher puts emphasis on parent’s needs and service knowledge, providing information on service features, and knowing related items that are offered.

Associates in this position know how to greet, qualify, recommend and close every guest who comes in for a tour. The Opening Teacher maintains the lobby area and ensures that it is clean and safe. These associates work in cooperation with their team lead and other teachers to ensure customers’ needs are met.

Key Accountabilities ENSURE GUEST SATISFACTION
  • Provides fast, friendly service
  • Actively seek out guests who come for a tour.
  • Offer a friendly greeting, smile, and make eye contact with customers.
  • Ask open ended questions about guest’s objective in order to determine their needs.
  • Show enthusiasm with the guest.
  • When necessary, handle several customers at once.
  • Thank guests for visiting Kid City.
  • Follow up with guests via telephone and email when appropriate.
  • Is knowledgeable about services offered by Kid City.
  • Describe features and benefits of services over the phone or during a tour.
  • Explain the child’s experience at Kid City.
  • Promote services offered at the center such as Drop-in Program, Preschool Program, After school Program, Summer Camp Program, Winter Camp Program, and other services.
  • Teams up with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer complaints or involve the appropriate manager to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Cooperate with play specialist and management when asked to help.
Qualifications

1. Four years documented experience OR degree in Early Childhood or Child Development preferred.

2. Minimum two years of experience in child care, early childhood, child development or related, preferred.

3. Infant/Child First Aid & CPR certification required. The company will cover expenses for this training, if needed, for the right candidate.

Additional Information

◾ Please note, successful candidates will be required to work some holidays and weekends.
