Purpose:
The YMCA is a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The part‑time Membership Associate delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Duties include responding to member needs, promoting memberships and programs, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.
- Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
- May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.
- Accurately reports work time via approved YMCA Clocking Method:
Branch Kiosk, YMCA site phone, YMCA iPad, or timesheet.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings.
- Assist with facility tours.
- Serve as a YMCA representative at special events.
- Attend designated YMCA trainings and certification courses.

Qualifications- Minimum age of 18.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
Part‑time schedules may vary per the Y’s hours of operation. The YMCA is open 7 days a week:
Monday – Friday 5:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sunday 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
- Must stand for long periods, kneel or crouch frequently.
- May be exposed to loud music.
- Requires close, distant, peripheral, and depth vision.
- Requires sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions.
- Must perceive, identify, and respond to signs of distress.

Salary: $8.50 – $12.50 per hour.
