Position SummaryThe Route Manager is responsible for supervising the collection activities for a line of business as well as container delivery and pickup. The position manages drivers and helpers and is responsible for safe and efficient collection operations, customer satisfaction, and upholding company culture. The Route Manager ensures compliance with all safety, ethics, environmental, regulatory, operating, financial, and company performance standards. The position is involved in hiring, training, routing, supervising, coaching and performance of the drivers with primary emphasis on safety and customer service.

Responsibilities- Assist with supervising driver and helper, evaluating performance, delivering feedback, and issuing disciplinary actions
- Responsible for driver and/or helper safety training/coaching, safety planning, and incident reporting
- Conduct morning safety briefings, safety meetings, and audits and launching drivers each morning
- Scheduling shifts, planning for call-ins/no shows, and reporting department metrics and performance
- Maintaining driver qualification files and ensuring compliance with DOT
- Conducting field inspections and observations to ensure proper and safe work procedures
- Receive, review and follow up on customer complaints regarding collection programs
- Responsible for route optimization and managing labor costs
- Assists with fleet maintenance and ensuring drivers perform required pre and post trip inspections
- Participates in regular P&L reviews to ensure budget and operational plans
- Ensures company and regulatory (DOT, OSHA) compliance standards are met
- Develops and maintains a best-in-class team and workplace culture and effectively manages performance and talent development; drives best-practice sharing
- Develops and builds up team members with an emphasis on hiring and training
- Be a brand ambassador for Greenmark, driving a culture of excellence and true partnership with team members and external stakeholders
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED (accredited) required
- Associate’s degree (accredited)
- 2+ years of relevant and supervisory experience.
