Job Overview

Early Childhood Education Assistant Teachers will work within the UW Oshkosh Head Start program, a federally funded preschool program serving low‑income families. This role supports up to 384 children across seven centers located in five different counties. Staff wellness is prioritized through individual/group reflective practice, practice‑based coaching, and wellness initiatives.

• Updates and organizes individualized and developmental educational plans for children
• Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
• Assists with basic technical and administrative classroom support
• Maintains the safety and physical well‑being of children in a designated classroom
• Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization for an early childhood education facility according to established curriculums

• Completed or current enrollment in an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education program or a Preschool Child Development Associate Credential (CDA). If currently enrolled, the credential must be successfully completed within nine months of hire.

$17.20 – $18.35 per hour

New hires working 21 hours or more per week receive a $500 bonus after 90 days. Those working 20 hours or less receive a $250 bonus after the 90‑day period.
