Staff Accountant
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This includes entering financial transactions, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling accounts.

This position will play a key role in the Company’s Accounting Department by performing a variety of accounting tasks to ensure the accurate and timely recording of business transactions.

Job Duties & Requirements:
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely entries for various financial transactions.
- Post journal entries and ensure proper documentation and backup for all transactions.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, long-term liabilities, and other general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Investigate discrepancies, make necessary adjustments, and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation and execution of the monthly and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements and other financial reports used within the organization.
- Provide support for budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing trends and financial data.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Support accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, ensuring timely payment, and maintaining vendor records.
- Assist in accounts receivable duties, including invoicing customers, monitoring payments, recording cash collections, and managing overdue accounts.
- Audit and Tax Assistance:
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary financial data, reports, and documentation.
- Support the preparation and filing of various tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Adhere to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Other Duties:
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as required by the finance department or management.
Competencies and Expectations:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Knowledge of basic tax rules and principles.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience and/or Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger duties is preferred.
