Materials Data Specialist

Position Summary: The Materials Data Specialist will play a key role in supporting our materials manager. They will be responsible for gathering, organizing, and ensuring the accuracy of data within our organization. They will work with databases, perform data cleanup, and ensure that data is properly stored, structured, and accessible for business and analytical needs. The focus will be within our materials department but will also overlap and support other areas of the company.

Work Location: IN PERSON/ ON SITE, MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, U.S.

Work Schedule: Year-Round, Full Time

Job Duties:

• Be the main support to our materials manager when it comes to data, reporting, troubleshooting, and even problem-solving.
• Organize and maintain material records.
• Assign revenue to internal and external material transactions.
• Track material purchases, transfers & inventory.
• Collect, input, and maintain structured and unstructured data in a variety of different databases and / or software (both data entry and manipulation).
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through validation and quality checks.
• Perform data cleaning, transformation, and migration processes.
• Extract and manipulate datasets for reporting and analysis.
• Work with IT, managers, and business teams to ensure data is accessible and usable.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and ensure compliance with data security standards.
• Create and update documentation on data processes and workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, finance, operations, etc.) to drive data-driven strategies.
• Perform testing and statistical analysis to optimize business performance.
• Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.
• Assist with other special projects or implementations, as needed.
• Assist with answering phone calls throughout the day.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field (highly preferred)

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with other Microsoft Programs (SharePoint, TEAMS, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proficiency in SQL for database management and queries (a plus).
