Our client, an amazing venture capital firm, has partnered with and grown many of the strongest tech companies of the past fifty years. They are recruiting for a talented and self-motivated Senior Fund Accountant to engage in all aspects of valuation and fund accounting. In addition to assisting in the day-to-day operations of the finance team, the ideal candidate is ambitious, with strong accounting and valuation skills, acute attention to detail, a drive to succeed, and advanced problem-solving skills.
They are in office in Menlo Park 4x a week.
They will work on:
820 Valuations- Prepare and document quarterly valuation analyses of portfolio companies using generally accepted venture capital valuation methodologies
- Identify and document key assumptions and the impact of inputs into valuation models, including portfolio company, legal, and market data
- Effectively communicate valuation results and insights to auditors, valuation committee, and Partners
- Assist in the review of quarterly close, including all financial statements and partners’ statements, and quarterly deliverables.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual audited statements as needed
- Review capital call and distribution allocation calculations
- Cash management including reviewing reconciliations, assessing cash needs and preparing capital call plans
- Prepare documentation needed for external auditors and answer their inquiries
- Address LP inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with other ad hoc responsibilities as needed
- Minimum of BS in accounting/business with public accounting experience
- CPA strongly preferred
- 2+ years of relevant work in public accounting (Big 4 a plus) in the alternative investment industry, preferably in Venture Capital
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 946 and ASC 820)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Proficiency with Investran and Salesforce preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in an intellectually rigorous and dynamic environment
