Executive Director, Lending Advisor

Morgan Stanley Private Bank, N.A. seeks an Executive Director, Lending Advisor to design lending solutions for International Wealth Management clients. The role involves meeting with clients and prospects, supporting relationship development, identifying and executing lending requests, performing due diligence, creating credit memos, negotiating terms, managing the transaction pipeline, and supporting key clients. Travel: 2-3 days domestic travel per month within the United States (California cities of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, San Diego, San Francisco and Silicon Valley).
Key Responsibilities- Design lending solutions for International Wealth Management clients.
- Meet with clients and prospects to support relationship development and discuss specific lending opportunities.
- Provide subject matter expertise to identify and execute lending requests from new and existing clients.
- Assess potential lending opportunities by performing due diligence on financial and non‑financial information.
- Create and review credit memos and negotiate terms on proposed credit transactions.
- Manage the transaction pipeline, balancing client expectation and timely execution.
- Provide support to key clients in anticipation of any amendments or lending needs.
- Escalation management for new transactions.
- Drive growth across all lending solutions for UHNW clients.
- Partner with IPBs, Advisors, and Field leaders to support growth initiatives (product awareness, advisor recruiting, NAA strategies, and integrated Firm).
- Partner with Product partners (HNW Lending, Tailored Lending), Legal, WM Risk and Credit Risk Management to design optimal credit proposals in line with the Firm’s risk appetite.
Expected base pay rates: $299,000 to $299,000 per year al compensation may include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, short- and long-term incentive packages, and Morgan Stanley‑sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Finance, or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in credit origination or underwriting in a Private Banking or Broker‑Dealer platform; or five (5) years as a Managing Director, Director, Vice President, or related field.
- Experience with credit origination across portfolio of marketable securities (equities, investment and non‑investment grade bonds, offshore mutual funds), commercial real estate, art, aircraft, hedge funds, and securities market exchanges across LATAM, EMEA, and Asia international markets.
- Experience in Letters of Credit operations, foreign exchange markets, and life insurance structures.
- Knowledge of offshore wealth‑structuring jurisdictions and structures (Personal Holding Companies, Private Investment Companies, Trusts).
- Understanding of regulatory environment and enhanced due diligence requirements for global clients.
- Familiarity with financial regulations including Reg U, Reg T, Rule 11d‑1, and Reg W.
- Ability to leverage accounting, economics, finance, and credit knowledge to create sound credit proposals.
- Experience coordinating with product and functional partners and driving lending strategies.
- Ability to cultivate relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals and balance liquidity needs against risk frameworks.
