Own and shape Meta’s next‑generation Lab infrastructure. This role has direct influence over how we design, deploy, and operate the environments that power engineering velocity, hardware validation, and product development across ENS. High‑impact scope with visible outcomes. You lead the teams and processes that enable testbed expansions, and critical reliability improvements—work that is immediately felt by partner engineering teams. Blend of strategic + hands‑on technical leadership.

You will drive long‑term architecture and tooling direction while also being close enough to the ground to unblock deployments, optimize workflows, and ensure operational performance expectations. Cross Functional reach across ENS, Product Engineering, and Site Ops. This role interfaces with nearly every part of the infrastructure organization, providing the opportunity to influence standards, champion automation, and extend best practices across the Lab ecosystem.

• Lead Lab Network Deployment Lifecycle (Expert‑Level Proficiency) is required for this role
• Oversee planning, design, and execution of Lab network deployments—including EDP creation, topology validation, BOM oversight, scheduling, and cross‑functional coordination. Drive consistency and quality across MDF/IDF builds, patching, cross‑connects, and tie‑cable augments
• Own Operational Reliability for Lab Infrastructure (Advanced Proficiency)
• Ensure stable operations of Prod Labs and Eng Labs, including monitoring KPIs/SLIs (MTTR, availability), triaging incidents, and driving root‑cause analysis. Partner with NIS, Site Ops, and hardware validation teams to proactively mitigate risks and harden the Lab environment
• Drive Automation, Tooling, and Process Improvements (Advanced Proficiency)
• Identify operational friction, manual workflows, and scaling bottlenecks
• Architect and implement automation opportunities across deployments, migrations, orchestration, inventory, patching, and ticketing flows. Work closely with XFN's to influence roadmap and adoption
• Manage Vendor and Managed Service Provider (MSP) execution (Advanced Proficiency) – Lead a healthy, scalable ecosystem of vendors and MSPs focused on network availability, performance, and OE. Set clear expectations, oversee day‑to‑day execution, and ensure quality delivery across rack/stack, cabling, fiber work, and operational support. Establish or measure SLAs/SLIs, drive continuous improvement, and hold vendors accountable for reliability, responsiveness, and adherence to Meta’s standards
• Oversee vendor performance across deployments, fiber work, rack‑and‑stack, and structured cabling. Set clear expectations, measure SLAs/SLIs, enforce accountability, and guide vendors through complex, multi‑phase migration windows
• Act as the operational leader for initiatives such as topology standardization, and infrastructure consolidations. Align on scope, dependencies, and timelines
• Provide crisp updates to leadership
• Ensure customer communication and minimal downtime
• Develop and Mentor a Team focused on meeting/exceeding expectations (People Leadership Proficiency)
• Recruit, coach, and grow engineers and technicians. Set clear expectations, establish operational guardrails, and build a team emphasizing ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Define and Enforce Standards & Documentation (Advanced Proficiency)
• Create and maintain deployment SOPs, runbooks, provisioning workflows, and acceptance criteria. Ensure all Lab builds adhere to Meta‑wide best practices in design, security, and reliability
