OverviewThe Snowflake Support team is expanding its Priority Support team and is looking for a Designated Support Engineer
. In this role you will delight your designated customer(s) with your passion and knowledge of the Snowflake AI Data Cloud, provide technical guidance and expert advice, and act as the voice of the customer to Snowflake’s product and engineering teams.
- Handle multiple designated accounts, depending on their size.
- Establish regular touchpoints with customers, provide executive‑level technical briefings, lead problem‑solving sessions for complex technical challenges, and advocate for customers between product teams.
- Support the Technical Account Managers in weekly account reviews for your designated customers.
- Maintain deep knowledge of assigned accounts’ architecture and use cases.
- Adhere to response and resolution SLAs and escalation processes to ensure fast resolution of customer issues.
- Use the Snowflake environment, connectors, partner software, and tools to investigate issues.
- Report well‑documented bugs and feature requests, working with Engineering toward a resolution.
- Proactively identify recommendations and lead global initiatives to improve product quality and customer experience.
- Provide support coverage during holidays and weekends based on business needs.
- Work within the Snowflake Priority Support team with a One Snowflake mindset, coordinating and partnering cross‑functionally.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline.
- 8+ years experience in a Technical Support environment or a similar customer‑facing technical role.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS, SQL data types, aggregations, and functions including analytical/window functions.
- Experience debugging, rewriting, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries.
- Familiarity with at least one ETL/ELT or reporting tool (e.g., AWS Glue, EMR, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Tableau).
- Good understanding of RDBMS query profiles, execution plans, and database performance optimization.
- Database migration and ETL experience.
- Programming or scripting experience in any language.
- Understanding of database patch and release management.
- Ability to interpret system performance metrics (CPU, I/O, RAM, Network).
- Experience troubleshooting database connectivity issues using client software, drivers, and connectors.
- Experience with major cloud service providers’ ecosystems.
- Flexibility with scheduling changes to meet business needs.
- Strong experience with enterprise‑level support.
- Experience with Data Warehousing, Database migration, and ETL.
- Experience with distributed databases (big data or MPP).
- Experience with CI/CD platforms (Terraform, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins).
- Experience in .Net, JavaScript, R, or Go.
- Familiarity with libraries/frameworks such as Pandas, Sci Py, Tensor Flow.
- Experience supporting applications on Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure.

- Understanding of cloud computing security and networking concepts.
- Experience with virtualization and container solutions (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Estimated base salary range: $144,000 – $189,000.
- Eligible for Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.
