About the Role
Eaton’s Industrial Controls Division (ICD) is currently seeking an Engineering Lab & Product Certification Manager. This is an onsite position based at our Menomonee Falls, WI facility. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $109,000 - $175,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You’ll DoLead the charge in shaping innovative product designs and ensuring global compliance standards. In this role, you’ll oversee engineering operations, drive continuous improvement, and manage certification processes with agencies like UL, CSA, and IEC. You’ll represent the company in industry forums, influence standards, and develop strategies that keep products safe, compliant, and competitive. Key Responsibilities- Manage Industrial Control Labs – Oversee lab operations, safety compliance, agency certifications, technicians, and design services (mechanical/electrical).
- Establish Engineering Standards – Develop and maintain procedures for PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems (ENOVIA), CAD tools, and drafting/design policies.
- Provide Technical Leadership – Guide draftspersons, product designers, and engineering teams on standards and best practices.
- Ensure Lab Safety & Compliance – Enforce ESWP/MESH practices, update SOPs annually, and collaborate with EHS for regulatory requirements.
- Budget & Resource Management – Develop annual budgets, manage capital planning, and control costs for labs and related projects.
- Coordinate External Services – Manage vendor contracts, KPIs, and partnerships for overflow work and specialized mechanical/electrical services.
- Drive Continuous Improvement – Streamline processes, implement training resources, and enhance efficiency through updated technologies.
- Lead Certification Strategy – Oversee UL, CSA, IEC testing processes, optimize certification costs, and maintain product compliance files.
- Support Product Stewardship – Ensure compliance with RoHS, REACH‑SVHC, and Prop 65 regulations across all markets.
- Communicate & Report – Provide transparent updates to leadership on project progress and maintain records for safety checks and regulatory permits.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering Services Management, PLM Administration, and/or Product Design.

- Experience with computer data management (PDM/PLM) systems such as ENOVIA, Creo, Autodesk tools, Solid Works, MAPICS, Oracle, VISTA, and configuration systems.
- Prior experience working with certification agencies.
- Experience organizing/managing lab‑wide 5S events and lab improvement projects.
- Working knowledge of various CAD tools: CREO, Solid Works, Inventor, EPlan, etc.
- Familiarity with engineering design & product certification standards: NEMA, IEC, UL, CSA, CES, ANSI.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM systems, system applications, interfaces, and database management such as integrating workstation applications with database storage/retrieval.
- Familiar with global codes and standards to be able to interpret requirements for application in ICD products.
- Demonstrated experience in capital budgeting, including activity center allocations.
- Proven ability to lead compliance initiatives (monthly safety checks, equipment PM, etc.).
- Safety‑first mindset, working knowledge of electrical laboratories and MESH requirements.
