Job SummaryThe Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Wellness Coordinator (PRWC) reports to the Manager of Heart and Vascular Wellness and works as an integral part of the multidisciplinary Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Team. The PRWC oversees all care provided for pulmonary and respiratory rehabilitation patients in the department including comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment plans, evaluating patients response to treatment, education presentations/interventions, and outcome measures. The PRWC acts as a liaison between patients and physicians and works to ensure that all regulatory guidelines are followed regarding patient referral process, billing, and documentation standards.
ExperienceA minimum of four (4) years of experience in a respiratory or pulmonary care setting, with one (1) year or more experience in the acute care setting.
EducationAssociate Degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Special SkillsUnderstanding of pulmonary devices, oxygen delivery systems, pulmonary medications, and ability to effectively instruct patients in their use. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
LicensureCurrent State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required. Additionally requires Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within one year of hire.
Completion of the AACVPR Pulmonary Rehabilitation Certification completed within 18 months of hire.
