The Lead Exercise Physiologist supports the leader by acting as a resource for staff and providers, assists with daily operations, and coordinates training and orientation. Required skills include critical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication, the ability to work autonomously/be self-directed, collaborating with others, acting as a change agent, and ability to manage conflicts. The lead is knowledgeable of all work completed by staff in their designated care area.
In addition, this lead works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. This role systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care. The lead utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health.
The lead establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers. The lead considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. The lead delegates and supervises care in the cardiopulmonary rehab space. This role participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development.
Description
Minimum of four years of experience in a clinical setting of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
Education DescriptionMaster's Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology or related field is required. In lieu of Master's degree, an additional six years of clinical experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is required.
Training DescriptionMembership and/or participation in state and/or national professional organization such as AACVPR, WISCPHR, or ACSM.
Licensure DescriptionMaintains cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required. ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification is required. American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional (CCRP) certification is required.
