Diamond Vogel is seeking a Color Match Laboratory Technician for our Menomonee Falls, WI aerosol paint facility. This full-time position supports the Technical Services Department by matching and approving colors within established coatings platforms and ensuring product quality through accurate testing and analysis. The role works closely with Manufacturing, R&D, and occasionally customers to support strong quality control and continuous improvement.
Shift
Monday–Thursday, 5:30 AM–3:30 PM
Occasional overtime on Fridays as needed
Responsibilities
- Match and approve colors in established coatings platforms according to set procedures
- Evaluate lab batch results, determine the color difference (ΔE), and recommend adjustments to meet established specifications
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and R&D teams to resolve issues observed during mixing or application
- Identify and support development of instrumental techniques to enhance color matching efficiency, color control, and compliance with customer standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lab to improve workflow, knowledge, and efficiency
- Work professionally and collaboratively with other departments and customers as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to visually discern color differences is essential
- Prior lab experience preferred
- Experience in color matching and/or coatings manufacturing a strong plus
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts
Ability to stand for most of the shift and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs - Experience with coatings, aerosol technology, or related technical disciplines preferred
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work safely in a fast-paced laboratory and manufacturing environment
