The Quality Engineering Technician will support the manufacturing environment throughout the development, implementation and improvement of quality procedures, instructions, and processes, through the performance of product dimensional and performance specification testing in one of our state-of-the-art Materials and/or Metrology Test Labs.
You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:- Facilitate priorities based on QMS Lab Management module and/or direction of supervision
- Supports training & mentoring of Quality Technicians.
- Facilitates materials and/or metrology lab request documentation, test reports & work instruction accuracy and implementation for test labs.
- Constantly works to ensure lab testing and manufacturing processes are exceeding performance metrics.
- Ensures communication during shift changeovers by utilizing tools as effectively as possible.
- Coordinates with NPD/Manufacturing Engineering, Department Leads and Plant Supervisors to fulfill quality expectations.
- Maintains communication with cross functional teams to ensure the highest quality products are manufactured.
- Test data capture and reporting experience
- Mathematical and analytical skills
- Possess proven mechanical ability or aptitude
- Accuracy and attention to detail required
- Prior training and development experience
- 3-5 yrs. Experience supporting a manufacturing environment
- Ability to interpret work instruction and use key performance indicators to enact change
- Associates Degree or 5+ years Test Lab experience preferred
- ASQ or similar Quality Certification
- Working knowledge of Polyworks, Calypso
- Knowledge of automated systems or the willingness to learn
