Development Manager Job Description

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of fundraising plans to raise and maintain the sustainability of the Chesterton Academy mission.

Duties include overseeing and managing fundraising efforts, building strong and successful relationships and maintaining communications with donors and future patrons. In addition, collaboration is needed with staff to understand the school's unique differences and to effectively execute fundraising events.

• Analyze, prepare, and execute an approved annual development plan.
• Prepare, forecast and track a planned annual development budget.
• Oversee the processing of all donations, generate timely gift acknowledgements, and maintain giving records and information to maximize the efficiencies of the donor software program.
• Maintain necessary donor confidentiality and donor relations to insure ongoing communications and donor involvement.
• Demonstrate annual growth of the donor base.
• Responsible for reflecting school professionalism in all external communications, and public relations.
• Develop and execute the external communications on social media. Write and distribute information on school events and announcements.
• Providing strategic guidance for the Annual Gala event to include location, theme, donor software, operational processes, and run of show.
• Must be comfortable with in person face to face meetings as well as a formal group presentation.
• Manage social media to communicate events, grow awareness and maintain the school's unique brand positioning.
• Work closely with the Headmaster, Executive Director, and Board of Directors in order to collaborate, inform and support the mission of Chesterton Academy.
• Report as needed to the Board to keep them informed of the fundraising activities and progress toward goals.
• Attend Chesterton Academy Network schools conference and other monthly calls as needed. Support other schools with sharing of non-sensitive information.
• As a school representative, the candidate must be a Catholic in good standing and take an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium.
