FMFH Medical & Surgical 5 (MS5) Our Med/Surg 5 unit is a 31‑bed acute‑care setting that serves patients with a variety of medical conditions, monitors telemetry, and is the hospital’s designated chemotherapy department. The unit provides an opportunity to work with many patient populations in our community. Education for MS5 includes a 10‑12‑week precepted orientation focused on becoming both telemetry and chemotherapy certified.
The unit has been awarded the Team Daisy award twice in the last two years, has a 24‑hour charge RN, and fosters a strong Shared Governance practice that encourages staff engagement and professional development.

Hours:
24.00.
Shift: Day shift weekend program 0700‑1930. Weekends:
Saturday and Sunday.
The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a primarily adult inpatient population. The role requires competency in delivering care to this population in an acute care environment.
ExperienceClinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment.
EducationProfessional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing. Upon hire, any non‑BSN nurse with less than one year of licensed RN experience must enroll in a BSN (or higher) program, expected within 15 months of hire. The degree program must be completed within 5 years of enrollment (or 6 years if MSN, DNP, or PhD).
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a multi‑state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC. American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA‑approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
