FTE: 0.8 (32 standard hours). Shift 4.
Shift DetailsLooking for an RN with recent critical care unit experience for 10 hour shifts from 9:30am-8:00pm (3 shifts/6 weeks may be 11:00am-9:30pm). Hours may need to adjust with patient volume.
- Generally 4–5 weeknight calls (Monday‑Thursday) from 9:00pm‑7:00am every 6 weeks.
- One Friday night call (9:00pm‑7:00am) every 6 weeks.
- One weekend call from Saturday 7:00am‑Monday 7:00am generally every 6‑7 weeks.
- 1–2 holiday call shifts 7:00am‑7:00pm per year (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day). If a holiday falls on weekend, observed per MCW schedule. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are included. Typically, call starts 5:00pm or 6:00pm‑7:00am on these evenings. July 4th falling on weekend may result in a Monday or Friday closed due to observed holiday.
The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients. The RN demonstrates competency in delivery of care to all patient populations, and is responsible for managing the unique and predictable needs of patients who have undergone an operative or invasive procedure in the Operating Room and/or the GI/Bronch lab.
They utilize the principles of medical/surgical nursing along with a unique knowledge base regarding anesthetic agents and techniques to assess, diagnose, and treat patients in the immediate post anesthesia period. The Registered Nurse job description incorporates the 15 essential functions, adapted from the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. Other duties as assigned.
Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to area of employment.
EducationProfessional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing. Upon hire, any non‑BSN nurse with less than one year of licensed RN experience must enroll in a BSN (or higher) program. Acceptance expected within 15 months, completed within 5 years (or 6 years if MSN, DNP, or PhD).
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a multi‑state Nursing License under the NLC. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent required within 90 days;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within one year.
