Job Summary: The Staff RN VCT assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for an identified group of patients. The individual must demonstrate competency in the delivery of care to a primarily adult population. The job description incorporates the essential functions of the job description, adapted from the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Statement for Supporting High Acuity, Progressive, and Critical Care Patients.

Experience

Description:

Five years of critical care, or equivalent area of practice experience, is required. Over five years of critical care, or equivalent area of practice experience, is preferred.

Education

Description:

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and clinical practice at a level generally acquired through completing a minimum of two years of education at an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Training

Description:

Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment, including a fundamental understanding of hemodynamics and sepsis and their related interventional treatments.

Licensure

Description:

Requires current, unrestricted, state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the Nursing Licensure Compact. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent is required upon hire. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 90 days of hire. CCRN, CCRN-E, CSC, CMC, CNRN, CEN, TNCC, TNS are preferred.
