Installation Technician, Security Systems Installation
Rescue Dog Technology is a growing physical security company that provides equipment and installation for schools and businesses across Wisconsin. We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to install, service, and support low‑voltage systems for commercial and light industrial customers. This role is hands‑on and field‑based, responsible for running cable, installing and terminating devices, and ensuring systems are installed cleanly, safely, and to industry standards.
The ideal candidate has prior experience with security cameras, access control, alarms, and structured cabling, and takes pride in high‑quality workmanship.
- Install, terminate, and test low‑voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, coax, fiber preferred)
- Install and configure IP and analog security cameras (including NVRs/DVRs)
- Install access control systems including door readers, strikes, mag locks, and REX devices
- Install intrusion alarm systems and related sensors
- Read and interpret drawings, floor plans, and system designs
- Perform device mounting, cable management, labeling, and documentation
- Troubleshoot and repair low‑voltage systems as needed
- Follow safety standards, job site rules, and company procedures
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members
- Maintain tools, company equipment, and job site cleanliness
- 2–5+ years of experience as a low voltage or security systems technician
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling and industry best practices
- Hands‑on experience with security cameras, access control, and alarm systems
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and in ceiling spaces
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, PoE, switches preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Experience with PoE/PoE+ switches and network racks
- Familiarity with fire stopping and code compliance
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with service calls and customer-facing work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders and lifts
- Ability to work in tight spaces, attics, and above ceilings
