Wisconsin Home Improvement (WHI) and Wisconsin Insulation Services (WIS) are long-established, family-owned companies specializing in home performance, insulation, and energy-efficiency solutions throughout Wisconsin. We operate a growing fleet of work vehicles and rely heavily on specialized equipment to serve our customers with excellence. We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our team and help maintain the tools, machines, and vehicles that keep our operation running smoothly.

The Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide variety of insulation-related equipment, heavy tools, and company vehicles. This role supports our production teams by ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for daily use.

• Diagnose, service, and repair insulation blower machines
• Insulation removal machines
• Krendl & Krendl-style blowing equipment
• Small power tools (drills, saws, vacuums, etc.)
• Bobcat & attachments
• Waterproofing equipment & sprayers

Perform preventative maintenance and documentation according to manufacturer guidelines.

Maintain inventory of parts, filters, fluids, and service supplies.

• Perform basic to intermediate repairs on company vehicles (vans, trucks, SUVs)
• Conduct oil changes, brake jobs, tire rotations, fluid checks, and electrical diagnostics
• Track maintenance schedules and ensure vehicles remain compliant and road-safe
• Coordinate outsourcing of major repairs to approved vendors when needed

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Assist with equipment setup/troubleshooting for crews as needed.

Monitor equipment condition and proactively recommend upgrades or replacements.

• 2+ years of mechanic, equipment tech, or maintenance experience (automotive, construction, or industrial preferred)
• Strong diagnostic skills and ability to troubleshoot independently
• Ability to safely operate and repair insulation blowers, removal machines, and similar mechanical equipment (preferred, but training provided for the right candidate)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a shop environment
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision

• $25–$35/hr, based on experience and certifications
