Job DetailsWork schedule:
Tuesday – Friday, start time 9:00 AM;
Saturday, 3:30 AM – 1:30 PM. CDL A – required.
- Lead with a safety mindset, championing safety procedures, processes, and training to create a safety‑first culture in the Transportation department.
- Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching, training on policies, problem resolution, and leading by example.
- Discuss performance with senior managers and create plans to address performance gaps.
- Encourage upward communication and motivate associates to achieve department goals.
- Direct and supervise the work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates; drive associate engagement and retention.
- Build high‑performing teams by interviewing, hiring, and coaching Transportation personnel, including disciplinary action when necessary.
- Monitor production goals and maintain a zero‑error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Anticipate, analyze, troubleshoot delivery issues, and devise cost‑effective and legal solutions.
- Ensure team adherence to DOT regulations and improve processes for safety and efficiency.
- Conduct routine Safety and Driver Meetings.
- Investigate all accidents, maintain an accident file, track causes, and implement preventative action.
- Effectively schedule working shifts using planning tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
- Direct:
Union and/or non‑union Drivers.
- Internal:
Transportation leaders, coworkers, drivers, warehouse leaders, and internal customers across departments (e.g., Sales). - External:
Customers.
- May spend significant time on the road and in a truck with drivers, exposed to noise and vibration; also spend time in an office working on a computer.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
- Minimum 1 year of experience overseeing a workforce.
- Experience as a driver is a plus.
- Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods, and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people‑development skills.
- Strong understanding of DOT requirements; familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Approximately 10% travel required for meetings and/or training.
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

Expected base rate between $60,000 and $90,000, depending on experience and location.
