Field Service Technician – Walmart – Menomonie, WI

Join Plug Power as a Field Service Technician supporting fuel cell products installed in electric lift trucks. You will perform preventative maintenance, resolve breakdowns, install and service fuel cells, report breakdown events, order parts, and maintain fuel cells at a specific location. The role provides extensive customer interaction, requiring strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to keep the fleet operating.
• Execute specialized service procedures, including field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades.
• Provide on‑call and emergency support to customers as needed.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support.
• Troubleshoot and maintain high‑pressure hydrogen storage, 480 VAC, flammability, cryogenic liquid, high‑pressure gas and fueling systems.
• Maintain communication with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers regarding aftermarket support.
• Provide regular feedback to regional service representatives on fuel cell performance and field maintenance issues.
• Complete administrative duties and documentation: incident reports, service logs, inventory maintenance and site/system documentation.
• Enforce safety procedures in the field or at customer sites.
• Travel as required for business needs; expected to drive safely and comply with traffic laws.
• Represent Plug Power professionally in all interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• Three (3) or more years of direct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Formal training and education may be considered in lieu of direct experience.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
• Preferred knowledge of lift truck operation and applications.
• General mechanical aptitude required.
• Computer and software systems skills:
  Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
• Dynamic interpersonal skills and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

• Technician must bring their own standard set of tools; specific fuel cell tools will be provided by Plug Power.

$24.50 – $28.50 per hour

• Base salary based on education, experience, skills, and geography.
