School‑Based CounselorOur school‑based program is currently looking for a School Based Counselor to add to our team. Working in a Lake County school, the Counselor works independently to develop relationships with clients, families, school officials, and other interested parties while meeting the students' mental and behavioral health needs. This role will provide assessments, individual, group and family therapy as needed, while also acting as a strong advocate for clients and consultant with our school partners.
An interdisciplinary approach offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues. The Counselor offers support, assessment, intervention, and consultation within the school setting across contracted districts. Supervision toward licensure advancement is provided by the organization.
- Provide mental and behavioral health services to children and adolescents in Lake County school systems.
- Consult with parents, gatekeepers, teachers, and others in the community.
- Provide group and individual services in the schools.
- Provide links between parents and community resources.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Home visits as dictated by client and district needs.
- 2+ years of experience with youth.
- 1+ year of experience working in schools.
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master’s degree preferred in Counseling, Social Work or other related fields. - LPC, LSW, MFT (required).
- LPCC, LISW, IMFT (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience building relationships with children and adolescents.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver's license (4 points or less) and carry minimum auto liability insurance of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000.
