Job Summary:
1st shift CMM Programmer responsible for programming coordinate measuring machines to perform dimensional inspection of castings, fixtures and gauges. Working with quality and product engineers to develop inspection plans and train operators.
- Program LK, Wenzel and Zeiss CMM to perform dimensional inspection of castings, fixtures, and gauges.
- Read and interpret complex airfoil blueprints to write inspection programs.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Product Engineers to develop inspection plans for gathering and reporting of information.
- Train CMM production operators and create or update procedures as required.
- Support additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum of A.S. in mechanical engineering and/or extensive background in airfoils layout inspection or tool building.
- Strong programming background desired. Experience with Camio, OpenDMIS and/or GOM software.
- Computer knowledge of Auto Cad, IGES, Excel, and Unigraphics is a plus.
- Minimum 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment. Previous casting experience is a plus.
- Able to meet deadlines, work flexible hours, and hold a strong attendance record.
- Strong sense of urgency, a motivated self-starter, and ability to work independently.
- Team-oriented, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high stress associated with high activity and tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of trigonometry and algebra.
