Foundry Furnace Helper

Status: Hourly

Shift: 5th, 6:30pm-6:30am

Positions Needed: 2

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Foundry Area Manager

Location: Mentor / RP, OH

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; may be substituted by experience.

Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality and quantity. Works flexible hours with a history of dependability illustrated by a strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving, has a strong sense of urgency, is a motivated self‑starter with the ability to work independently, and maintains a positive work atmosphere through respectful communication with customers, clients, co‑workers and supervisors.

The foundry furnace helper will train to perform the necessary operations of a Vacuum Casting Technician.

• Operate all vacuum furnaces – equiax, D.S. and single crystal – and accurately record all necessary information.
• Ram crucibles on all furnaces, change over on D.S. susceptors/coils and melt coils.
• Perform all responsibilities of the furnace helper.
• Execute all duties according to S.O.P.’s, Engineering Procedures and Special Lot Instructions.
• Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standards.
• Ensure that the Foundry Department’s high standard of housekeeping is met.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and materials.
• Organize work for smooth operations and ensure required documentation is maintained.
• Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co‑workers and supervisors.
• Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
