Legacy Staffing has partnered with a growing manufacturing company in Mentor, OH to hire a QC Shop Inspector. This is a second shift opportunity working 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM with a pay rate of up to $20.00/hour based on experience and skill level. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and accuracy of machined copper and aluminum electrical connectors in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, experience using precision measuring tools, and the ability to interpret manufacturing blueprints.
- Inspect machined copper and aluminum electrical connectors to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Review and verify rejected parts to determine whether defects are legitimate.
- Utilize calipers, thread plugs, gauge pins, and other quality inspection tools to perform accurate measurements.
- Document inspection findings using Microsoft Excel and communicate results through Outlook.
- Perform gauge calibration activities to maintain measurement accuracy.
- Conduct audits throughout the manufacturing environment to identify unlabeled or nonconforming products.
- Assist with receiving and verifying incoming raw materials.
- Maintain an organized and efficient work area while following quality and safety procedures.
- Able to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Ability to use quality inspection equipment, including calipers, thread gauges, and gauge pins.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to lift and handle containers or pails weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to walk up to one mile throughout the workday.
- Ability to maintain an organized workspace and work independently.
- Previous quality control or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience inspecting machined metal components.
