Overview
Title: Sales Associate - Capital Equipment
Shift: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 Base Salary, plus commission plan. Total compensation potential of $120,000 - $130,000+ dependent on experience and achieving sales goals.
Responsibilities- Aggressively hunt for new business, focusing on lead generation and new account acquisition
- Utilize industry data, trade associations, and customer referrals to identify sales opportunities
- Develop new market segments for steel belt conveyor solutions
- Contact inactive customer accounts to reactivate relationships and determine future sales potential
- Travel extensively to customer and prospect sites (up to 75%) to build and maintain relationships
- Collaborate with the in-house engineering team to create detailed and accurate quotes for complex systems
- Oversee and review quotes prepared by the estimating department to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
- Present, negotiate, and submit final quotes to customers, clearly communicating project engineering, pricing, and delivery timelines
- Advise and train external sales representatives, distributors, and dealers on conveyor solutions
- Serve as the primary face of the organization to both external customers and internal partners
This role reports directly to the Hiring Manager/Owner and will work closely with the General Manager, Engineering Department, and Estimating Team. This position does not have any direct reports.
About You- Possess a demonstrated record of success selling custom-engineered capital industrial equipment
- Bring a minimum of three to five years of progressive sales experience
, preferably in heavy industry - Have experience selling to companies within the steel, metal stamping, aluminum, or forging industries
- Demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Exhibit a strong, passionate work ethic and be comfortable with extensive, proactive hunting for new business
- Show a high degree of mechanical aptitude to intelligently discuss complex equipment solutions
- Hold a college degree; some engineering-related training is highly preferred
- Comfortably use a CRM system and other sales tools to manage pipeline and customer data

Compensation Details: This position offers a competitive base salary and a commission plan structured to reward new order generation. Commission is paid out at the time an order is received. Annual bonus potential is based on achieving pre-determined sales and bookings goals. Expenses, including mileage, are reimbursed.

Work Environment & Travel: This is a full-time, on-site role in Mentor, Ohio. The position requires a significant amount of travel (50-75%) to customer and prospect locations across a large territory, which includes the Northeast, Midwest, and Southern U.S. Trade show attendance is also required.
Compensation: $70,000 per year
