Business Development Manager

We are looking for a Business Development Manager (WI, MN, ND, SD) based in Wisconsin (ideally near Milwaukee
, Green Bay or Madison facility.) In this role you will focus primarily on developing new business and applications where cutting tools, mold and die forming tools are beneficial for the customers’ cost saving efforts. This position is responsible for generating sales leads as well as marketing and selling PVD coating services to OEMs, end-users, and manufacturers in the cutting tool, metal forming and plastics industries.

The Business Development Manager will be required to provide a consultative selling approach by providing solutions for customers and their agents.

• Develop new business by working with production staff and product managers as needed.
• Manage new growth projects and orchestrate support functions.
• Document test results in detail and interact with segment experts nationwide and globally to solve upcoming challenges.
• Grow current territory and manage growth projects.
• Perform prospecting in the area for future business.
• Maintain relevant customer/account information using Balzers CRM database.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; equivalent experience may substitute.
• 5 years of selling experience in a manufacturing or industrial industry.
• 3+ years of experience with service or consultative sales approach required.
• Broad understanding of the manufacturing processes in cutting tools or mold and die forming applications.
• Experience working in the tooling or coatings industry preferred.
• Previous experience selling PVD coating and surface treatments preferred.
• Proficiency working with MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required.
• Effective verbal /writing skills and strong presentation skills.
• Must be energetic, goal-driven, result-oriented, and high-energy to be effective in this role.
• Must be willing to travel overnight 50%
