Phlebotomist II Float – Merced, CA

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II Float to serve as a key member of our Patient Service Center team. This full‑time position will require a state phlebotomy license (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV) and involves shifting to multiple sites to meet patient needs during a Monday‑Friday schedule from 5:30 AM to 5:00 PM with rotational weekends.

$21.40–$24.60 per hour, with annual performance bonus eligibility.

• Cover a designated territory, drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required.
• Coach, mentor, instruct and serve as a resource advisor for new employees; be the point of contact on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
• Travel to additional doctor’s office or Patient Service Center sites when needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada and Washington.
• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
