• The ability to stand, sit, and type extensively.
• Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to assist in lifting patients over 50 pounds.

• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve complex problems.
• Ambulatory skills sufficient for hospital duties.
• Good hand‑eye coordination, arm‑hand‑finger dexterity, and visual acuity to operate equipment.
• Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, and occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications.

• Minimum 1 year as licensed veterinary technician.
• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and appropriate registration status in the state of employment.
• High school diploma plus further education.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Previous back‑ or front‑office experience preferred.
