Head Start - Program Aide
Join the New Britain-Berlin YMCA as a Head Start Program Aide. Assist in classroom activities, support children with special needs, and serve as a substitute when needed.
- Assist in developing culturally relevant materials and activities.
- Help supervise mealtime, encouraging good nutrition and social skills.
- Keep the classroom clean and orderly.
- Assist the teacher in any aspect of the program as the need arises.
- Serve as a substitute in the absence of the teacher or assistant teacher.
- Work with assigned children with disabilities.
- Support classroom staff and managers, health/nutrition, family services, mental health specialists, and consultants in carrying out individual plans for children with special needs.
Standard entry‑level, full‑time role requiring dedication to early childhood education and support for diverse learners.
