Position: Project Engineer (Structures)

Project Engineer

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting and leading the successful delivery of complex, multimillion-dollar, fast-track heavy civil, highway, and bridge projects. This role involves assisting the project manager and project team with documentation, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, engineering support, construction supervision, and overall project execution through close-out. The candidate should be comfortable taking on a wide variety of responsibilities, oversee structural elements of the project, tower foundation, effectively prioritizing tasks, and performing leadership functions in the field and office.

AutoCAD, Carlson, GPS, and heavy-civil scheduling or project controls experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management support for field engineers and project staff.
  • Participate in day-to-day operational decision-making, including tracking progress, cost, schedule, and project performance.
  • Support construction planning, means and methods development, and activity work plans to perform work safely and productively.
  • Ensure projects comply with all company policies, procedures, safety plans, and quality programs.
  • Manage and maintain the RFI and submittal process to ensure timely review, response, approval, and close-out.
  • Implement effective quality control/assurance measures and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Manage schedule updates and required narratives.
  • Assist with project cost coding, production tracking, and daily documentation of labor, equipment, and quantities.
  • Participate in development and management of budgets, manpower plans, equipment plans, subcontractor coordination, and material procurement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in heavy civil and structural construction.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; preferred experience with HCSS Heavy Job, Vista, CAD/AutoCAD, Carlson, GPS, or P6/Microsoft Project.
  • Comprehensive understanding of civil construction industry practices and standards.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
