The Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute provides an exceptional patient experience – delivering world-class care with the highest safety and quality. The Orthopaedic Institute’s Physician Assistant team covers inpatient joint reconstruction, spine, podiatry and acute fracture care.
Responsibilities- First and/or Second Assist in the operating room.
- Provides pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
- Documents patient encounters, including admissions, brief operative notes, progress notes, event notes, procedure notes and discharge notes.
- Enters, reviews and updates orders.
- Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe and appropriate patient disposition.

Under established guidelines and in collaboration with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations and develop medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients. They develop plans for further evaluation and provide appropriate treatment within their scope, referring to physicians as needed.

- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Certified as a Physician Assistant
- Current or eligible CT license
- Minimum of two years of orthopedic or surgical experience required
